Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made a bold statement, saying he would prefer to put the club’s goalkeeper coach, Jorge Vital, on the bench rather than Marcus Rashford.
This comes after Rashford was left out of the matchday squad for the 1-0 win against Fulham, a match in which Lisandro Martinez scored the only goal from a deflected strike.
Rashford hasn’t been included in a Premier League squad for nearly two months, and Amorim has criticized the 27-year-old for not showing the right attitude and effort in training.
“If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player, if you do the maximum and right things we can use every player,” he said.
“You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench. But I would put [Man Utd goalkeeper coach Jorge] Vital before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day.”
