Amorim gives reason for Man Utd loss

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, believes set pieces were the decisive factor in their Premier League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Jurrien Timber and William Saliba scored for Arsenal from corner-kicks, securing a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium. This marked Amorim’s first defeat since taking charge of United.

Reflecting on the match, the 39-year-old manager expressed that his team could have been more aggressive.

“The set pieces changed the game,” Amorim told Match of the Day. “We should have been more aggressive in the Arsenal box. Until the set pieces, the game didn’t have many opportunities for either side. The set pieces were decisive.

“We were committed, but we lost due to the set pieces. We tried to play, but Arsenal is a very organized team, and it’s hard to score against them. I felt the players were in control of the game until the set pieces changed everything in the second half.”
