A 20-year-old woman, Camille Anguenot, is on trial in northeastern France for the murder of a man she called a “sucker,” after meeting him at a nightclub in November 2021.
Anguenot, then 18, invited 23-year-old Theo Decouchan to her home, where she fatally stabbed and strangled him after he allegedly became insistent during the night.
Anguenot later attempted to cover her tracks by disposing of his belongings, using his bank card, and locking his body in her closet.
The man’s mother, worried she had heard nothing from her son, reported him missing, while his sister spoke to Anguenot.
Anguenot insisted that Decouchant had left after their evening together and tried to look helpful, sharing a post appealing for information about the missing man on Facebook.
Decouchan’s decomposing corpse was discovered by police a week after he was murdered.
She faces charges of voluntary manslaughter, theft, and fraud, and could receive a 30-year prison sentence.
