The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has issued guidelines for U.S. citizens residing in Nigeria to participate in the upcoming November 2024 U.S. Presidential elections.

As the election approaches, American citizens overseas are encouraged to follow these steps to ensure their vote is counted:

  1. Request a ballot: Visit FVAP.gov for comprehensive instructions on how to request your absentee ballot.
  2. Receive and complete your ballot: Once received, fill it out carefully.
  3. Return your ballot: You may either mail the ballot yourself or drop it off at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the Consulate General in Lagos using a postage-paid envelope.

The 2024 U.S. Presidential election is pivotal, with citizens across the globe exercising their right to vote, determining the next President of the United States.

Overseas citizens are strongly encouraged to vote early and ensure their ballots are returned on time to avoid any delays.

The election will see major candidates from the Democratic Party, Republican Party, and independent candidates vying for the presidency, shaping the future direction of U.S. policy both domestically and internationally.
