Two boys, aged 13, have been sentenced to life with a minimum of eight years and six months for the murder of 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai.

The attack occurred on November 13 last year at Wolverhampton’s Stowlawn playing fields. The boys, 12 at the time, stabbed Seesahai in the heart and fractured his skull with a machete.

The boys are the youngest convicted of knife murder in the UK since the 1993 case of James Bulger’s killers.

During sentencing, Seesahai’s family described the crime as senseless.

One of the boys also received a conviction for possessing a bladed weapon.
