Russian strikes across Ukraine on Monday resulted in the deaths of at least three people and caused significant damage to energy infrastructure.
Explosions were heard in multiple regions, including the capital Kyiv, where residents sought refuge in metro stations.
In central Dnipropetrovsk, a 69-year-old man was killed in the mass attack, according to Governor Sergiy Lysak. Zaporizhzhia also reported one civilian casualty, while in the western city of Lutsk, a Russian strike damaged an apartment building, killing one person.
Energy facilities in Lviv were also targeted, leading to partial power outages. In the wider Kyiv region, missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure wounded one person.
Five others were injured in Poltava after an industrial facility was hit.
Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the invasion began in February 2022, causing widespread disruptions and extensive damage to the country’s power grid.
