Spanish police have made a record-breaking seizure of over one million ecstasy pills and other narcotics valued at more than 25 million euros.
This operation, hailed as the largest synthetic pill bust in the country’s history, led to the arrest of nine individuals in Malaga and Ibiza, suspected of belonging to a major criminal organization that smuggled synthetic drugs into Spain and across Europe.
Authorities believe the gang was led by Italian nationals based in Ibiza, a hotspot for party drugs. Alongside the ecstasy pills, police confiscated substantial quantities of MDMA, ketamine, cocaine, “pink cocaine,” hashish, and marijuana. The drugs were smuggled using vehicles with hidden compartments.
Spain, due to its proximity to Morocco and ties to Latin American cocaine-producing countries, has become a key entry point for drugs entering Europe.
