Slain Hezbollah Leader’s body recovered

The body of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut, has been recovered, according to a source close to the movement.

The airstrike, which occurred on Friday, also claimed the life of Ali Karake, a top Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has yet to release the names of others killed alongside Nasrallah and Karake.

A medical and a security source confirmed that Nasrallah’s body was found intact at the site of the strike. His funeral arrangements have not yet been made, although his body was placed in a shroud on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced on Sunday that it had also killed Nabil Kaouk, another prominent Hezbollah leader, in ongoing strikes. Kaouk had been a member of Hezbollah since the 1980s and previously served as deputy director general of the southern region.

Israel continues to target Hezbollah, hitting about 120 of its positions in southern Lebanon as part of an ongoing cross-border conflict.

The Israeli military claims these strikes are aimed at eliminating Hezbollah commanders and disrupting the group’s infrastructure.
