Princess Anne discharged from Hospital

Princess Anne

Princess Anne, the younger sister of King Charles of Britain, has been released from the hospital following a five-night stay due to a minor head injury caused by a horse, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday.

The 73-year-old princess, the late Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter, has returned to her residence at Gatcombe Park in southwest England. She will continue her recovery there and will resume her public duties once cleared by her medical team.

Anne sustained the injury last Sunday while walking on her estate grounds where horses were nearby. Her medical team indicated that her head injuries were consistent with impact from a horse’s head or legs. A royal source mentioned that Anne, a former Olympic equestrian, suffered a concussion and has experienced memory loss regarding the incident.

On Monday, the Palace announced that she is expected to fully recover. However, her upcoming engagements have been postponed, and the injury has prevented her from traveling to Canada as scheduled this week.

“I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise, and kindness during my wife’s short stay,” her husband Tim Laurence said.
