A tragic plane crash occurred in Washington, DC, resulting in no survivors.
The incident involved an American Airlines passenger jet colliding mid-air with a Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopter above Washington DC, before plunging into the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Nearly 30 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage in the river so far. The jet, identified as a PSA Airlines service (flight 5342) operating for American Airlines, was flying from Wichita, Kansas. The helicopter was on a training mission.
Local authorities have confirmed that there are no survivors from the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collision.
