Namibia’s central bank has announced its monetary policy rate steady at 7.75%.
The monetary policy committee made the decision on Wednesday to keep its key lending rate steady for sixth consecutive meeting.
The interest rate has been stable since April 2019.
The decision was made in the interest of borrowing and investment.
According to the policy maker, Namibia Central Bank’s decision was intended to safeguard the peg between the Namibian Dollar and the South African Rand, while also supporting the domestic economy.
