A 31-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attempting to divert a Mexican domestic flight to the United States.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the man, identified only as Mario N., attacked a flight attendant and tried to storm the cockpit.
The flight, operated by Volaris, was en route from León to Tijuana when it was diverted to Guadalajara. The Mexican National Guard arrested the suspect upon landing.
The man claimed that a close relative had been kidnapped and that he had received a death threat if he traveled to Tijuana
Following his arrest, the flight continued to Tijuana without further incident.
