Israeli Troops tie Injured Palestinian to Jeep in West Bank Raid

More than 37,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli Forces in Gaza since October 7

Israeli soldiers tied an injured Palestinian man to their vehicle’s bonnet during a raid in Jenin, West Bank, sparking outrage over using him as a human shield.

A video showed Mujahed Azmi on the jeep’s bonnet as it passed ambulances.

The Israeli military confirmed the event, admitting protocol violations during the raid after being fired upon.

“During the exchange of fire, one of the suspects was injured and apprehended,” the military claimed in a statement, referring to Mr Azmi. “In violation of orders and standard operating procedures, the suspect was taken by the forces while tied on top of a vehicle.”

The “conduct of the forces in the video of the incident does not conform to the values” of the military, it said, adding that the incident would be investigated.

Mr. Azmi’s family claimed they requested an ambulance, but soldiers instead strapped him to their jeep and drove off. He was later transferred to the Red Crescent for treatment.
