Iran ‘plotting’ Trump’s assassination

Donald Trump

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has claimed that Iran is planning a significant assassination attempt against him.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Trump alleged that Iran had already made one unsuccessful attempt on his life and is preparing to try again. He expressed concern over the situation, while assuring that the U.S. military is closely monitoring the threats.

Trump acknowledged the heightened security surrounding him, expressing gratitude to Congress for unanimously approving additional funds for the Secret Service.

He emphasized the bipartisan support for the decision, noting that such an attack on a former president would have severe consequences for the assailant.

This follows a previous assassination attempt a few months ago, when 20-year-old Mathews Crooks allegedly tried to shoot Trump during a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, but missed.

There was another alleged attempt few weeks ago at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
