Iran halts device use after Israel’s Hezbollah attacks

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has ordered a halt to using communication devices following a series of explosive attacks in Lebanon that killed 37 people and injured over 3,000.

The devices, including pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah, detonated across Hezbollah strongholds in two days of attacks. Iranian officials believe Israel may be responsible and fear Israeli infiltration of their ranks.

The IRGC is conducting extensive reviews of all their communication equipment and security measures, including bank and travel checks for their personnel.

Investigations are underway in Tehran, with exploded devices being examined for further insights, and they’ve shifted to encrypted messaging systems for secure communication.

Neither Iran’s leadership nor key ministries have publicly commented on the attacks yet.
