Kamala Harris, in a Fox News interview, pledged her presidency would differ from Joe Biden’s, focusing on new ideas and a fresh approach.
She clashed with host Bret Baier over immigration and gender surgery, emphasizing the Biden administration’s border security efforts.
“My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” said Harris, 59, who became her party’s nominee after the ageing Biden dropped out in July.
Biden had said on Tuesday that Harris would “cut her own path” as president.
Harris also criticized Donald Trump for divisive rhetoric and military threats against internal enemies.
“He’s the one who tends to demean, belittle, and diminish the American people. He’s the one who talks about an ‘enemy within.’
With less than three weeks to the election, Harris positioned herself as a new generation of leadership, seeking to appeal to swing voters while drawing a clear distinction from Biden’s presidency.
