An Amber Alert reports that law enforcement is searching for Elias Huizar, 39, and Roman Huizar, 1. Elias is reportedly driving a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with Washington plate CBZ4745 and is possibly driving to Mexico, according to reports.
Elias was reported to have raided a gun roll at William Wiley Elementary School where he reportedly killed his ex-wife and girlfriend and abducted a one-year-old, according to the Amber Alert from the Washington State Patrol.
Huizar is suspected of shooting a woman at William Wiley on Mon., April 22 and killing another at his home, according to the West Richland Police Department. He is also facing charges for child rape from February and was supposed to be in court the same morning.
The initial shooting happened around 3:23 p.m. as students were being released from William Wiley for the day. Several schools were locked down as a result, according to WRPD.
Investigators believe that Huizar is armed and dangerous and may commit more crimes. The public is asked to call 911 if Huizar is seen.
WRPD confirmed with NonStop Local that Huizar, a former Yakima police officer, was charged in February for child rape. His trial was set for Mon., April 22, however was stricken, according to court documents.
Court documents detailing the February incident say officers were made aware of a possible sexual assault by Huizar of a teenager on Feb. 3 with reports that his underage girlfriend caught him assaulting her 16-year-old friend in his home.
Huizar worked as a police officer for almost nine years, from June 2013 to February 2022.
