Cameroon’s 91-year-old President, Paul Biya, has returned to the country, quelling rumors of his death.
After being absent from public view since early September, he was seen at Yaoundé airport with his wife, Chantal, and greeted by government officials.
His absence from key international events fueled speculation, but state-run broadcaster CRTV aired footage of him upon arrival.
The government had previously issued a statement on October 8 announcing his imminent return to counter rumors of his passing.
