Former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili has sharply criticized the current Nigerian government under President Bola Tinubu, calling the political office holders “bandits” who are primarily focused on personal enrichment rather than addressing the nation’s economic difficulties.
During a Channels TV appearance monitored by SaharaReporters, Ezekwesili condemned the recent purchase of a ₦150 billion luxury jet by President Tinubu as a sign of insensitivity amid widespread economic hardship.
Ezekwesili argued that the government’s priorities—such as acquiring a new jet, constructing a ₦20 billion residence for the Vice President, and buying extravagant cars—reflect a disregard for the severe poverty and hunger affecting Nigerians.
She accused the political class of exploiting their positions for personal gain at the expense of the country’s well-being.
