President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the Atiku Campaign, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
This announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, on Thursday.
Bwala, a lawyer and notable public affairs analyst, previously served as a key aide to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election. His appointment marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, as Bwala had been a vocal supporter of Atiku during the campaign.
In addition to Bwala’s appointment, President Tinubu also named three new directors-general for various federal agencies:
- Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission
- Dr. Abisoye Fagade as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism
- Dr. Adebowale Adedokun as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement
These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to assembling a team of highly qualified individuals to drive growth and development in various sectors.
