Sequel to his redeployment to the Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment Ministry by Governor Simi Fubara, Isaac Kamalu, a loyalist of Former Governor Nyesom Wike has resigned as River State Commissioner of Finance.
This was contained, on Tuesday, in a letter to Governor Fubara and the Secretary to the Government, Tammy Danagogo.
Kamalu accused Fubara being untruthful about the internally generated revenue of Rivers State.
“In view of the above, I find it difficult to accept the redeployment; I do not accept it. I reject it and convey my immediate resignation as Commissioner and Member of the River State Executive Council with effect from the date of this letter”, the letter reads.
Earlier, it was reported that Zacchaeus Adangor, another Rivers politician loyal to Wike has tendered his resignation as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state.
This marks the second resignation tendered by Kamala to the Fubara-led administration after he pulled out of the cabinet in December 2023 amidst the gale of resignations that affected Rivers State in the wake of the political crisis which rocked the state.
