Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District has resumed at the Nigerian Senate after his three-month suspension.
Ningi was recalled on the 28th of May, about two weeks before his three-month suspension was supposed to end. It was meant to elapse on June 12, 2024.
He was slammed with suspension on March 12, 2024, for accusing the Senate of budget padding.
Last week, Deputy Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro moved a motion for Ningi’s recall, expressing regret on his behalf and taking responsibility for his actions.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, subsequently announced Ningi’s unconditional recall after pleas from some lawmakers.
