APC governorship primary holding at Ward 1 of Stella Maris College, Okitipupa, was disrupted as supporters of two aspiring candidates of the All Progressives Congress clashed over the party’s nominee for the upcoming November 16 Ondo State Governorship election, according to a News Agency of Nigeria report.
Accredited party members, who had assembled in significant numbers to partake in the candidate selection procedure, dispersed when clashes erupted between the competing factions.
The News Agency of Nigeria disclosed that the accreditation and electoral proceedings had not commenced when the violence erupted, prompting voters to flee for safety.
“One of the agents came here, snatched the validation and accreditation papers and fled the venue in his car.
“They chased him, but could not catch him. This caused the violence,” one accredited voter who pleaded anonymity told NAN.
