Valentine Obienyem, media aide to Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi, has refuted claims that the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Obi and his wife, Margaret.
In a statement on Tuesday, Obienyem clarified that the reports were baseless, stating that the rumors began on Saturday but were quickly debunked.
Obienyem noted that Obi was not in Anambra State during the alleged incident but was instead attending engagements in Rwanda. Obi has since returned to Nigeria and is currently in Edo State, engaged in political and national activities.
“There was no DSS operation at his residence, and no arrest was made,” Obienyem reiterated, urging the public to disregard the misinformation and rely on official channels for updates on Obi’s activities.
