Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has expressed his disappointment over the failure to elect Professor Yemi Osinbajo during the last presidential election.
Ojudu likened this missed opportunity to losing Chief Obafemi Awolowo for a second time.
Speaking on the ‘State Affairs’ program with Edmund Obilo, Ojudu shared his conviction to support Osinbajo during the 2023 general election in Nigeria.
Osinbajo, who contested for the presidential ticket under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022, lost the primary election to President Bola Tinubu.
Ojudu emphasized that Osinbajo’s work ethic, philosophy, breadth of knowledge, and patriotic spirit made him the best candidate to govern Nigeria.
He stated, “Osinbajo would have been good for this country. For me, it is like losing Awolowo for a second time because he was at Awolowo’s level in terms of capacity, ability, dedication, and commitment.”
