No regrets supporting Tinubu – Wike

Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that he has no regrets for supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.

Before his ministerial appointment, Wike served as the governor of Rivers State for eight years under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). President Tinubu later appointed him as FCT Minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service in Ochigba organized by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of the state, Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for believing in him.

He mentioned that he was threatened before the presidential elections for supporting Tinubu and added that he would do the same thing if another opportunity arises.

“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes, I will do the same thing,” he said.

The Minister also addressed allegations of land grabbing leveled against him by some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He emphasized that the right things must be done and that those in possession of government land must comply or risk having their plots of land revoked. Wike described the allegations as laughable, stating, “I am in charge of lands in Abuja, how will I go and grab what I am in charge of?”

Wike thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the challenges of dealing with the entire nation in the capital. He assured that, despite any propaganda or criticism, the right thing must be done.
