New Edo Gov recounts encounter with Dead Bat after election

Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, recently shared a remarkable experience from his campaign journey.

During a post-swearing-in Thanksgiving Service at the Samuel Ogbumudia Stadium in Benin, Governor Okpebholo recounted finding a dead bat on his bed the Sunday after the election.

He interpreted this as a sign of divine intervention, attributing his victory to God’s guidance and the support of the Edo people.

“After the (governorship) election in Edo State, in the morning of Sunday, September 22, 2024, I came into my room. I met a bat that had died on my bed, without me shooting any arrow, but the Spirit of God was there. The arrow of God settled it. The hand of God delivered me.”

“I am also grateful to the men of God who stood in the gap for me. I am grateful to those who believed that with God all things are possible. I will give you one piece of advice: trust in God alone, because He will do it for you.”
