The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN) has voiced its disappointment regarding the Muslim-Muslim ticket that brought President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima into office in 2023.
The council stated that the anticipated benefits for the Muslim community have not materialized.

- Lack of Expected Benefits: Speaking at a Pre-Ramadan Lecture, Sheikh Abdurrasheed Hadiyyatullah, President of SCSN, criticized the administration for failing to address the plight of Nigerian Muslims. Despite the general belief that the Muslim-Muslim ticket would be advantageous, the council has observed that justice and equity have not been extended to all communities, irrespective of their faith.
- Political Marginalization: Hadiyyatullah highlighted that millions of Muslims remain politically marginalized across various parts of the country, despite their significant population and constitutional rights.
- Economic Hardship: The council also raised concerns over the worsening economic hardship in the country, urging the federal government to take immediate action to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
- Solidarity with South West Muslims: Hadiyyatullah warned against attempts to suppress the rights of South West Muslims to organize mechanisms that would enhance their coexistence with Christians within their communities. He emphasized the need for solidarity among Nigerian Muslims.
