Makinde Inaugurates Elected Council Chairmen

Governor Sèyí Mákindé of Oyo State has sworn-in the newly elected Local Government Chairmen in the state.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Barr. Bayo Lawal charged the elected local government chairmen to ensure real grassroots development and also ensure dividends of democracy are delivered.

He added that his administration understands the importance of local grassroots governance, which is why elected chairmen are needed to lead all Local Government Areas in Oyo State.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Segun Olayiwola, congratulated the newly inaugurated chairmen of the thirty-three local government areas in the state and urged them to work diligently to achieve the desired progress at the grassroots level.

The oath of allegiance was administered before the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Iyabo Yerima, along with People’s Democratic Party leaders and other government officials.
