Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has appointed 200 youths from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as his special assistants, demonstrating his commitment to gender sensitivity by including both male and female appointees.
During the presentation of the appointments at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday, state party Chairman Abubakar Kana-Zuru expressed pride in the governor’s actions.
He recalled their election campaign, during which they made numerous promises to the people, and noted with satisfaction that the governor has fulfilled about 80% of those promises, with plans to complete the rest soon.
Kana-Zuru highlighted some of the governor’s achievements, including the procurement and free distribution of fertilizers and SME support to farmers, as well as the provision of foodstuffs. He also mentioned the construction of triple and double-lane roads with solar-powered streetlights in the state capital and the completion of a multi-billion Naira ultra-modern state secretariat.
The chairman praised the governor’s open and inclusive governance, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach everyone. He assured the new appointees that they would start receiving their salaries by the end of December.
A’isha Gulabi, the state APC Women Leader, expressed gratitude for the governor’s actions, noting that the appointments benefit not only the appointees but also the wider community.
She urged the youths to remain loyal and respectful to enjoy more dividends of democracy and encouraged those who did not receive appointments to be patient, as their turn would come.
