Wale Akinterinwa, a former Ondo State commissioner of finance, has disclosed how the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, his former boss, selected him to be Akeredolu’s successor.
Wale asserted in a Friday interview with TVC News that Akeredolu prayed for him to succeed him as the state’s future governor. In 2023, Akinterinwa claims that upon his return from a medical trip to Germany, his old employer revealed the information.
He stated, “He informed me that he would like me to take over from him during the conversation in his office. He prayed for me as well. I also know that he disclosed that wish to some individuals.”
“We had the conversation as soon as he returned from Germany.”
Wale is running for the All Progressives Congress, or APC, governorship in the state’s upcoming election, according to News VEO.
The election was planned for November 16, 2024, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
The governorship ticket hopeful promised during the interview that he would win the APC primary and unseat Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent governor.
“I’ll announce my plans when the moment is right. I have no doubt that I’ll be given the ticket. “The people support me,” he continued.
