Fubara to swear in newly elected chairmen today

Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, will swear in the newly elected local government chairmen today (Sunday) at 4:00 p.m.

The ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.

This was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) declared the results, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) winning 22 out of 23 local government areas.

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, will today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 p.m. The newly elected Chairmen, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 p.m.”
