Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has vowed to contest for the post of the President in 2027.
He pledged to give it a try as long as he is healthy.
He made the disclosure during an interview on the Hausa service of the Voice of America in Abuja.
“Of course, I will keep contesting again and again as long as I am alive and healthy,” Atiku responded when asked if he will contest again.
“Even the former US President Abraham Lincoln contested seven times before finally winning.
“However, given the current state of the PDP, it is clear that a single-handed effort will not suffice to win the election. Strong support and collaboration with other parties are required.”
Atiku has attempted to become president six times but has officially been a candidate three times — in 2007, 2019, and 2023.
