4:00 pm – PDP, LP won’t get single vote in my LGA – APC candidate, Okpebholo
Senator Monday Okpebholo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the ongoing Edo State governorship election, has said his key rivals, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, LP, will not get a single vote at Unit 03, Ward 1, Uwessan, Esan Central LGA.
He disclosed this after casting his ballot in the exercise.
3:51 pm – In Oredo, Ward 2, Polling Unit 58, accreditation and voting are currently ongoing.
3:44 pm – In Orhionmwon LGA, Aibiokunla 1 Ward, Poll Unit 007, the counting of votes has concluded with 231 registered voters, 195 accredited voters, and 0 invalid votes.
3:23 pm – In Etsako Central LGA, Ward 02, Polling Unit 001, the sorting of votes is currently ongoing.
3:21 pm – In Etsako Central LGA, Ward 6, Ugbekpe Ekperi, Polling Unit 4 at Abebe Primary School, voting has concluded and counting is about to commence.
3:20 pm – INEC has released a statement extending voting period in some areas.
“Accordingly, we have drawn the attention of our office in Edo State to ensure that, where necessary, there is adequate power supply from our back-up electric generators in the affected Polling Units or Ward Collation Centres,” the commission said.
3:02 pm – In Esan West, Ward 6, Central Primary School Iruekpen Ekpoma, Polling Unit 004, INEC officials, party agents, and voters are patiently waiting for the end of voting.
3:01 pm – At 1:41 PM in Oredo, Ward 2, Polling Unit 58, tensions are rising as voting has not commenced due to a malfunctioning BVAS machine, with the INEC technician yet to return.
2:26 pm – In Ward 006, Polling Unit 008 of Igueben LGA, Edo State, the voting process is ongoing peacefully, although there are reports of vote buying by some political parties.
2:24 pm – In Edo State, Esan West LGA, Ward 6 at Central Primary School Iruekpen Ekpoma, PU 004, INEC officials are waiting for more voters to arrive.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Edo governorship election, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has condemned late arrival of officials of Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, and election materials to his polling unit.

12:32 pm – In Esan West LGA Ward 6, Polling Unit 004 stationed inside Central Primary School Iruekpen Ekpoma, the turnout of voters is relatively high despite the rain.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) have arrested suspected vote-buyers in the ongoing Edo governorship election.
The suspects were arrested in the Egor Local Government Area of the state.

Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are currently absent at the polling unit of the PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
