3:01 pm – At 1:41 PM in Oredo, Ward 2, Polling Unit 58, tensions are rising as voting has not commenced due to a malfunctioning BVAS machine, with the INEC technician yet to return.
2:26 pm – In Ward 006, Polling Unit 008 of Igueben LGA, Edo State, the voting process is ongoing peacefully, although there are reports of vote buying by some political parties.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Edo governorship election, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has condemned late arrival of officials of Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, and election materials to his polling unit.

12:32 pm – In Esan West LGA Ward 6, Polling Unit 004 stationed inside Central Primary School Iruekpen Ekpoma, the turnout of voters is relatively high despite the rain.

Despite delays in the arrival of election materials, residents of Edo Central Senatorial District, comprising Esan South-East, Igueben, Esan North-East, Esan West, and Esan Central LGAs, have begun casting their votes.
10:47 am – EFCC operatives arrest vote buyers
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC) have arrested suspected vote-buyers in the ongoing Edo governorship election.
The suspects were arrested in the Egor Local Government Area of the state.
INEC Officials absent at Ighodalo’s polling Unit
Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are currently absent at the polling unit of the PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is looking to reclaim power in Edo State following Governor Godwin Obaseki’s defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.
