Despite conflicting statements, Ganduje, APC Leaders arrive NASS ahead of Tinubu’s address

Umar Abdullah Ganduje, Former Governor of Kano State and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

On Wednesday, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, arrived at the National Assembly complex in Abuja accompanied by some party leaders.

Ganduje was there in anticipation of President Bola Tinubu addressing a joint sitting of the Senate and House of Representatives.

This occurs amidst confusion from the Presidency regarding conflicting statements about President Tinubu addressing a joint session of the National Assembly.

On Monday, the National Assembly announced that it would convene a special joint session on Wednesday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of democracy in Nigeria.

According to a statement by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Magaji Tambawal, the President was expected to attend the joint sitting, along with other leaders, including state governors and former leaders of the country.

This information was also affirmed on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Yet, in another statement on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, refuted a report suggesting that President Bola Tinubu would address a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
