Former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been reportedly granted bail.
This is following the 9-count charges bordering money laundry and corruption levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the former governor bail as he ordered the defendant (Willie Obiano) to remain within the jurisdiction of the court and also ordered that his travel documents be deposited with the court registrar immediately.
The court registrar has been ordered by the judge to inform the Nigerian Immigrations Service about the judgment.
This is following the Anti-graft counsel, Slyvanus Tahir SAN, asking the court to remand the former governor.
He is to return for a hearing on March 4th, 2024.
Earlier, it was reported that the former Anambra state helmsman pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him by the EFCC.
