Dada Yar’adua, mother of Umaru Yar’adua, and Shehu Yar’adua, Nigeria’s former President and Vice President respectively at different times is dead.
She was aged 102.
The Yar’adua matriach died at the Katsina Teaching Hospital on Monday evening.
Her death was confirmed by a family source, who described her as a kind and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to her family and community.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced shortly, with a burial expected to take place in Katsina in accordance with Islamic rites.
