According to reports, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), representative of the Federal Government of Nigeria met with the management of Dangote Refinery to set the pricing template for products from the $20 billion refinery.
It beacame necessary after the speculation that the refinery plans to sell refined product in dollars which was clarified on Monday, January 22, 2024, by the oil marketers that Dangote refinery will sell their petroleum product in Naira and not in foreign currency as previously speculated.
It was stated by the dealers in the downstream oil sector that the registration for marketers at the refinery was still ongoing.
It was announced on January 12,2024 by Dangote refinery to commence the production of diesel and aviation fuel.
It was said by the president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, in a statement that the refinery will kick start the production of diesel and aviation fuel which will hit the market in January upon receiving regulatory approvals.
Dangote said “This is an important achievement for our country as it demonstrates our ability to develop and deliver large capital projects. This is a game changer for our country, and I am very fulfilled with the actualization of this project.”
