Tinubu lands in Saudi for WEF, to tell World Leaders about plans for Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu landed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, on Friday to attend the 2024 Special World Economic Forum on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.

This is the second phase of his two-nation tour, sequel to his engagements in The Hague, Netherlands, on Wednesday.

Tinubu and his entourage will use the opportunity of the gathering to discuss his renewed hope agenda for the country,” the President’s spokesperson, Mr Ajuri Ngelale, revealed in a statement he signed last Monday. ⁣⁣

The event serves as a platform to “bridge the growing North-South divide exacerbated by emerging economic policies, the energy transition and geopolitical shocks,” according to a SWEF note.

The high-level event in Riyadh, slated for Saturday and Sunday, is expected to attract over 1,000 commercial, government, and academic leaders from more than 90 nations. , and it is anticipated that they’ll address urgent global concerns in three primary themes: revitalizing global collaboration, supporting equitable growth, and catalyzing action on energy for development.
