Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently expressed his views on women wearing makeup.
He suggested that those who do so do not believe that God created them perfectly.
Speaking during the RCCG ministers’ conference at the Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State, as part of the church’s 72nd annual convention, Adeboye emphasized that God did an excellent job in creating humans.
He stated that women who use makeup are essentially expressing doubt in God’s work.
Adeboye said, “When you marry, you cut your coat according to your clothes. Some of you want to be like the people of the world. I can’t even imagine some of the things I see now. It wasn’t so in the beginning.”
He continued by criticizing the trend of spending large amounts of money on photoshoots and the excessive use of decorations and makeup on wedding days.
“Those who do make-up are those who do not believe God did a good job,” he remarked.
Adeboye concluded by stressing that humans are “wonderfully and perfectly made” by God, and attempting to enhance that with makeup is futile.
