The Nigeria Police Force has declared a British national, Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich, and a Nigerian, Lucky Obiyan, wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Addressing the press on Monday, the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, accused Wynne of establishing a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing the country.
Adejobi stated that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have apprehended nine suspects involved in the plot, which included violent protests and spreading false information.
Wynne, who allegedly orchestrated these activities with financial backing from foreign sources, rented a space at Labour House in Abuja for a covert operation disguised as an “Iva Valley Bookshop” and “STARS of Nations Schools.”
Wynne and Obiyan have reportedly fled the country, leading the police to launch a global manhunt.
Adejobi also revealed that Wynne financed and provided operational guidance for the unconstitutional regime change, mobilizing billions of naira to fund the violent storming of police and military facilities, in violation of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2011.
