Journalist Isaac Bristol, known by the alias PIDOM, has been arraigned by the Nigeria Police on charges related to money laundering, cybercrime, and the unlawful acquisition and dissemination of classified official documents.
Bristol was brought before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he pleaded not guilty to the nine charges leveled against him.
Following his plea, Justice Nwite adjourned the case to September 23, 2024, for a ruling on the bail application filed by Bristol’s legal team. In the meantime, Bristol has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
Bristol’s arrest took place on August 5, 2024, in Rivers State, in connection with accusations of undermining government operations through the illegal possession and distribution of classified documents.
