The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will soon start receiving a monthly allowance of ₦77,000.
This decision aligns with the national minimum wage approved by the Federal Government.
Ahmed made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company.
He emphasized that arrangements for the increased allowance had been finalized and reiterated his commitment to prioritizing the welfare and security of corps members.
The NYSC DG also highlighted the significance of the newly donated bus, noting that it would alleviate transportation challenges faced by both staff and corps members.
He advised corps members to avoid traveling at night or boarding roadside vehicles and encouraged them to be agents of positive change in their host communities.
