Flying Officer David Sangokoya of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been awarded the prestigious International Sword of Honour for 2023 at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell (RAFCC) in the United Kingdom.
The award was announced by the NAF on Friday, recognizing Sangokoya as the Best International Cadet of the Year.
He received the Sword of Honour during a Royal Graduation ceremony on September 12, 2024, presented by Prince William on behalf of King Charles III.
Sangokoya completed the Modularised Initial Officers’ Training (MIOT) Course 22 from March to September 2023, and was honored for his exceptional performance among international cadets.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, congratulated Sangokoya, praising his dedication and hard work. He also acknowledged the support of Sangokoya’s family in his success. The achievement brings pride to the Nigerian Air Force and the country.
