Nigeria has been ranked 105th out of 147 countries in the latest Global Happiness Report, released to mark the International Day of Happiness.
The report evaluates happiness levels based on individuals’ assessments of their lives, considering factors such as social support, income levels, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.

- Global Rankings: Finland retained its position as the world’s happiest country for the eighth consecutive year, followed by Denmark and Iceland. Nigeria’s ranking places it in the lower half globally but 10th among African nations.
- Top African Country: Libya emerged as the highest-ranked African nation, securing the 79th position globally.
- Evaluation Criteria: The rankings are based on a three-year average of survey responses, measuring quality of life and well-being indicators.
