Bello Bodejo, leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, is billed to appear in court for trial on the 29th of May.
This was scheduled by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja after the dismissal of Bodejo’s application for bail.
Bodejo, who is facing terrorism-related charges, was absent at the previous court session, causing a delay in the trial’s commencement.
However, his counsel, Ahmed Raji, assured the court that his client is prepared for the upcoming trial.
Raji mentioned there won’t be a quick appeal against the bail decision since the court has ordered a swift hearing.
Remember, Bodejo was apprehended by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) for allegedly establishing an ethnic militia group called Kungiya Zaman Lafiya
In March, Bodejo was charged with three counts under the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, and he denied all accusations.
His attorney had earlier requested bail citing his poor health and fundamental rights, but Justice Ekwo rejected the request.
