The minors recently released by the Federal Government for their involvement in the “End Bad Governance” protest have arrived at the presidential villa.
They are set to meet briefly with government officials. The Federal Government has dropped the treason charges against them for their participation in the nationwide protest.
A source within the presidency confirmed that the governors of Kano and Kaduna States are present to receive the minors and will hand them over to their families. The meeting is scheduled to commence at 2 PM at the State House Auditorium.
Following President Bola Tinubu’s directive on Monday, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, took over the case file early Tuesday morning and notified the Federal High Court in Abuja of the decision to discontinue the case against the protesters.
