Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially presented the Staff of Office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Abímbọ́lá Ọ̀wọ̀adé.
The ceremony took place on Monday morning at the Exco Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan, the state capital.
“He (Prince Owoade) is in town. He will get a letter of appointment from the state government tomorrow (Monday) so that he can resume work as Alaafin,” a top government source told reporters.
This follows the death of the previous Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, on April 22, 2022.
