The body of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has arrived at the Nigerian Air Force wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The remains were received by soldiers of the Guards Brigade at precisely 9 am on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The body will soon be airlifted to Abuja, where a service of songs will be held at the Army Headquarters’ Garrison Parade Ground in Mogadishu Cantonment.
This will be followed by a funeral service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja on Friday, after which Lt. Gen. Lagbaja will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confirmed that the late military leader will be given a state burial in recognition of his service to the nation.
